Cooking Tips

Our organic, grass fed beef can be cooked the same way you’ve always cooked your meat. However, grass fed beef, especially the leaner cuts, does benefit from special cooking techniques.

• Fat serves as heat insulator. When meat has little fat, heat is conducted more quickly and
  can toughen the protein.

• Keep your grass-fed beef more tender by cooking it slowly at a lower temperature.

• Steaks are best served medium to rare. The lower the finishing temperature, the more tender the meat will be.

• If you like your meat well done, do not grill it as it will dry it out. Cook it with a moist heat source at a low temperature for a longer period of time.

• Less tender cuts of meat, such as a chuck roat, or an arm roast need to be cooked slowly with moist heat.  A crock pot is a great choice for slow, moist cooking.
